Toilet Paper Holder

Yeah it's pure function vs esthetics. A few holes when you eventually do remove it (glass need different holes) vs deal with suction or adhesive letting go once in a while. I just went full "eh whatever I use the bathroom, not look at it" mode a few years ago. The toilet brush, paper holder, hand towel hook, everything got their own 2 or 3 holes.

My roommate has this talent where they can use the last square of toilet paper and still somehow not notice the empty roll. It'll be the saddest cardboard tube on earth, sitting there like a warning sign, and they just walk away. I've asked nicely, I've joked, I've even put a sticky note on the holder. Same result. So I decided to stop arguing and make the problem visible. I bought one of those cheap over-the-door hanging organizers and labeled the top pocket TOILET PAPER with a marker. Then I put it on the bathroom door at eye level. Every pocket below it had something random like wipes, extra soap, trash bags, just to make it feel normal. But the toilet paper pocket was the star of the show. I also stopped storing backup rolls anywhere else. No cabinet stash, no hidden roll on the window sill, nothing. If the roll ran out and they didn't replace it, they had to stand up, open the door, and stare directly at the giant TOILET PAPER pocket while grabbing a new roll. The first time it happened, I heard them mutter something under their breath. The second time, they actually replaced the roll without being asked. Now, when the last roll is in that pocket, they refill it because it's so obvious it feels embarrassing not to. I saw a post of a woman who shared that she had a photo on her dating profile in her bathroom, and she's in the mirror, and behind her you can see the toilet paper roll. She said that 16 different men messaged her telling her that the roll was on wrong. I mean it's funny, but the truth is that toilet paper doesn't need to be oriented in any particular way. As long as it comes off correctly and you can use it, that's all that matters. I really don't understand men's obsession with the orientation of the toilet paper. Up, down, back, forth, whatever. Doesn't even matter. I say grab that toilet paper, put it on the holder in no particular manner, and let it roll... I used to have special cat-proof TP holders, but I’m remodeling my bathrooms and they just didn’t look right anymore. Plus, I found this antique replica TP holder and *loved* the way it looked. So I came up with these and they work like a charm! My TP goblin hasn’t been able to get into the toilet paper since I put these up over a month ago.
