Spice Rack Championship - First attempt at a banlist
Good morning, spice-enthusiasts. Over the last week or so, I've been working on drafting a banlist for the off-meta Goat-format card-pool tournament that I'd like to host (here's the original post describing the idea). I'd like to present this first draft to you all for feedback! More than feedback on the particular cards in the list (though I am interested in that), I'm curious about how this all reads to you. Is it easy to understand? Would it be cumbersome to build a deck while referencing the banlist? Something to keep in mind: the vast majority of the cards on this list are there because they're overplayed, not necessarily because they're overpowered. Taken holistically, this banlist ensures something which is very important to the spirit of the SRC: no more than 25% of the cards in any given deck will consist of those top-10% cards that you see in every Goat format duel. With that disclaimer out of the way, here's the list. PLEASE, comment with any questions or feedback you may have. Thank you all! New Spice Sets…New rack from Michaels!
I accidentally found the PERFECT display at Michael’s for the new Spice Village releases Wasn’t even looking for it, just wandering the aisles, and this arched wall shelf basically screamed “Spice Village.” It fits the houses so well and gives them their own little neighborhood moment. Of course, in true Lexington fashion, they sent me two Santa Fe sets 🙃 so I’m still waiting on my French Quarter to arrive. But once it finally gets here, they’ll officially have a proper home. submitted by /u/amazingMatt-9-9-6 to r/LenoxVillage [link] [comments]

Instead of designing a spice rack just for my cabinet, I designed one that can fit yours too.
Hey everyone I just published my first larger 3D model on MakerWorld and wanted to share it with you all. It’s a fully parametric, highly customizable spice rack designed to mount inside a cabinet door (or on any flat kitchen surface). I originally created it because none of the ready-made solutions really fit my cabinet and spice jars or matched the look I wanted — but instead of just designing one that worked for my kitchen, I wanted to create something that anyone can adapt to their own cabinet dimensions and jar sizes. So I built it in Fusion 360 as a fully parametric model that can be adjusted to fit almost any setup. What makes it special: Fully parametric (Fusion 360) Adjustable width, height, depth Custom wall & base thickness Adjustable screw hole placement & size Designed to adapt to different spice jar diameters This is my first bigger public release, so I’d really appreciate: Honest feedback Improvement ideas Downloads & Prints If you print one, I’d LOVE to see photos of your setup! Here’s the model: https://makerworld.com/de/models/2400562-highly-customizable-spice-rack#profileId-2631191 Thanks a lot — I’m excited to hear what you think! submitted by /u/Objective_Living7936 to r/BambuLab [link] [comments]

Spice racks/jars
I’m looking to get my first decent set of jars and a rack, whats any tips to look for? I’ve found some on amazon with wooden lids, glass jars and good seals. Ideally need around 25/30 jars, my current 16 are overrun with other random jars and bags of spices if I can get a countertop rack as well, it’ll be so much easier to store. renting so can’t exactly drill into my walls submitted by /u/UnitedCucumber1711 to r/spices [link] [comments]

Spice rack in the kitchen
Some time ago, I created these wall-mounted spice racks. I made one version for store-bought spices and another for garden spices stored in jars purchased on Amazon. For the store-bought version, I made one rack for three jars and one for one jar, which is more practical. For the garden spice jars, I added TPU "bands." Everything is mounted directly to the tile floor without drilling. I made pads attached with silicone, and the spice racks themselves are fixed to a plexiglass plate using M4 bolts and thumb nuts from Amazon. It's all very practical and doesn't take up much space. In addition, the entire stand is quite discreet. It's all made of PLA and doesn't budge at all. submitted by /u/Silver3D66 to r/3Dprinting [link] [comments]

DIY pipe and wood spice rack
Leading into my kitchen we have this half wall in the archway. I’d like to build some spice rack shelves that go all the way to the top of the arch. I was thinking of wood shelves supported by one brass pipe on each side. The pictures kind of illustrate what I’m looking to do but instead of mounting to a wall like the product from Lowe’s I just want the pipe to go straight up. I’m looking for help on how to support the wood on the pipes. Are there certain fittings that can slide over the pipe and then attach to hold the shelf? Does each section of pipe need to be individually cut? Appreciate any suggestions or insight! submitted by /u/floral-wallpaper to r/woodworking [link] [comments]

Wood for shelf and spice rack build

Hardware recommendation for mounting spice rack
Hi! I made a spice rack with some leftover wood and want to mount it on the wall. I built it thinking that I'll just screw right into the flat piece at the top but I wondered if anyone has another suggestion that might work and not have visible screws. It's all held together with wood glue and it's made of pine. As for the wall, there's just one stud and it's off center so if I drill right into the spice rack, I'll use the stud and a drywall anchor. There's also a small lip at the bottom where the backsplash ends and I'll have the bottom of the rack line up with that. I would like the rack to sit flush against the wall. I know it's not finished perfectly, I only had access to a few tools at a friend's house and then glued it up at home so I couldn't do any extra cuts to fix things that were slightly misaligned. Thanks! ✌️ submitted by /u/Material_Risk_5709 to r/BeginnerWoodWorking [link] [comments]

Does anyone make an inclined, wall-mounted hotel pan rail to use as a spice rack?
I started making a 3D mockup of what I'm imagining, but apparently images aren't allowed. What I'm thinking of is an inclined rail, maybe 30" long, which can hold ninth pans (the small "hotel" pans that are more common in commercial kitchens than in home kitchens). The ninth pans would be used with lids, and store spices, powders, etc. The inclined rail would be mounted on a free wall, or maybe above a countertop if 2.5"-depth ninth pans are used. I tried some googling but didn't see anything. Has anyone seen something like this before? submitted by /u/ef02 to r/Cooking [link] [comments]

Spices on wall cabinet door rack feet away or drawer right by stove?
Trying to decide between these two options. The wall cabinet door rack would be a few feet away from the stove, but the drawer option is directly next to it. Edited to add, it would be a horizontal top drawer with some sort of organizer for the spices, not a vertical spice-specific pull out drawer. submitted by /u/Any-Purpose-3259 to r/kitchenremodel [link] [comments]

I mildly ruined my now ex-neighbor's Thanksgiving.
This happened in November of 2023. I (36M) live in an apartment building with rather thick walls between apartments. From 2017 when I moved in until May of 2024, I had a neighbor on the other side of the wall that I'll call Tee (60sF). Tee was nice when I first moved in, but at some point within my first year of living here her husband left her. No idea why, but ever since that day, Tee became an absolutely annoying nightmare. She would slam her door any time she went in or out of the apartment. Literally every single time. The doors of our apartments are very heavy, thick metal and I promise you it does NOT take that much force to close them securely. She also started "stalking" my partner and I around our apartment. It took us a bit to catch on to this, but she would always play country music (which I despise) at full volume on what I think must have been a bluetooth speaker that she bought from hell itself. If I opened the sliding closet door in the hallway of my apartment, she would move the speaker to her closet, which is on the opposite side of the wall. If I went into the bathroom and started the shower up, she'd move it to her bathroom on the other side of the bathroom wall. (Our apartments are basically mirrored versions of each other.) If my partner and I laughed at something on TV or talked at just normal volume, she would pound on the wall and yell. Sometimes my partner and I talk to each other while we're in the bathroom together, brushing our teeth, putting on deodorant, getting ready for bed, etc. One time I heard her yell at seemingly no one "Oh great! They're in the bathroom again!" We didn't wanna get too paranoid but it really felt like she was following us around. She would also sit out front of the apartment building and chain smoke, letting the smoke waft into my windows during the summer, which forced me to keep the windows closed. We live on the second floor and we don't have central AC in this building, and the smell started coming in from the window AC unit after a year or two because she started smoking directly below it. I work night shifts and one day as I was walking out the door, she was sitting outside and asked all sweetly "Where you goin' this late, honey?" I was trying to be polite to her and I just told her "Oh, I'm heading to work. I work nights for (company name)." I thought maybe we could get along, but after that day she began blaring her music at exactly 8:30am every morning when I got home, thus making it hard for me to sleep. We did call our landlord multiple times, and he had a few talks with her, but that only made her worse. There's so much more I could get into, like her daughter and her baby niece coming over at all hours of the day and having the LOUDEST conversations, the time she was screaming at someone on the phone in the hallway outside my apartment door, and the time she threw her poor cat out of the second floor window then got pissed when we tried to feed it so she installed an automatic door closer on the back door to stop us from letting the cat in. But you get the idea. Now, on to the revenge. It was November of 2023. I usually stop at a grocery store right by our apartment in the mornings when I get off of work, and one morning the week before Thanksgiving I stopped in to grab a few necessities. For some reason, Tee was there doing her Thanksgiving shopping at 8am in the morning. I didn't want to cause a scene when I saw her in the aisle so I just put on a fake smile, said hello, and went about grabbing my toilet paper, cat food, and a few snacks to pack in my lunches for my overnight shifts. I'm not sure if she did it intentionally, but Tee got to the register right before me and started unloading her dozens of groceries onto the belt. Keep in mind, all I had was like 5 or 6 things and I just wanted to go home and sleep. This grocery store has self check-outs, but for reasons I still don't understand to this day, they've been permanently blocked off since covid. This early in the morning they only have 1 cashier and 1 lane open so all I could do was wait while Tee took her sweet time chatting with the cashier and intentionally not looking at me. While I was standing there, frustrated and tired, I noticed that Tee's debit card had fallen onto the floor because of the way she'd set her wallet down. The card was sort of half under the big rack on one side of the aisle that has all the candy on it. I realized that if I took a step forward to put my stuff on the belt then I would almost naturally step right on top of her card. So, while she chatted and took her sweet time, talking about how great this turkey she was buying looked and how this spice was gonna go great with that spice and her daughter was just gonna looove this boxed stuffing, I took a step forward, put my foot on her card, leaned forward to grab a divider for the belt, and scooted her card completely under the rack. The gap was maybe half an inch at best, so unless someone got down and pressed their face to the floor to look under it, you couldn't tell the card was under there. She goes to pay and oh no, she can't find her card! After a few minutes of digging around in her purse and checking her pockets, she finally tells the cashier that she must have left her card at home and can they please hold onto the groceries until she can come back to pay for them. It'll only take her a few minutes. The cashier puts her cart off to the side, Tee leaves, I buy my stuff, and I finally head home. For the next hour I forced myself to stay awake and listen through the wall as she yells at her daughter over the phone, saying that Thanksgiving is ruined, she can't find her card, can someone help her pay for the groceries, the turkey is gonna go bad if it just sits in that cart at the store all day, etc. When I woke up later that day I could still hear her ranting and yelling, this time to her daughter, who was there in person now. I don't know what Tee ended up doing but I asked the cashier the next time I saw her and she told me that Tee never came back for her groceries, so I effectively ruined her Thanksgiving. I know this because she complained very loudly about it for the next month to all the other neighbors. As a final note, she moved out in May the following year and my partner's best friend ended up moving into that apartment. When I was helping our friend move in, we decided that now that we had access to the apartment we wanted to see just how loud my partner and I were really being. I stayed in what was once Tee's apartment and the others went into my apartment and yelled, laughed, and played music at full volume. I could BARELY hear a peep, and they were giving it their all. We tried talking in the bathroom, running the shower, flushing the toilet, etc and we pretty quickly realized that for us to be hearing Tee's music and her yelling etc, she had to have been yelling at the top of her lungs and playing that demon-bought speaker at ungodly levels. It's truly unreal, because to this day we can hardly hear each other unless we actually put our ear to the wall. It kinda creeps me out to think that Tee was standing in her apartment with her ear to the wall all the time, but there's literally nothing else that makes sense. Tee was 100% insane and I hope I never have a neighbor like her ever again. EDIT: A few people have asked about the cat, so I'll put that story here really quickly. One night in December my partner and I came back from an evening Sheetz run. As we went up the steps to the apartment we found a cat sitting on the landing. Poor thing was shivering and cold and immediately came up to us to be petted. We already own 2 cats and our apartment is only a 2 bedroom so we couldn't take in this poor third kitty. She was OK to be petted but she'd get squiggly if I tried to pick her up so it was hard to move her into a carrier or something. We put out some food and water and made a little bed for her and we stayed out in the hallway with her. After a few hours we went inside to eat our now-cold food. When we went back out the cat was gone. We propped open the back door of our building so she could go in and out at will and we saw her one other time coming in for food. We were calling and texting people trying to find a home for her before the next snow came in and we were considering how to arrange our room so she could stay in our apartment without interacting with our cats. But then Tee started closing the back door of the building very loudly any time we opened it. Even at 2am once. I asked her to leave the door open because we were trying to find a home for a stray cat and she told us "Oh, that's not a stray. She was my cat. Little bitch bit me so I threw her out the window haha! Leave that door closed though please honey, it's getting chilly." My brain legit took time to process that and I just walked away. Next day Tee was up on a ladder installing a door closer on the back door "with the landlord's permission, so that damn cat doesn't come back in here." We found the cat going into the apartment building next door and a nice couple there said they'd been feeding her but they couldn't get her into their apartment because she didn't like being picked up and they weren't sure if she belonged to someone. We explained the situation and they said they'd adopt her since it was gonna snow soon and they didn't want her out in the cold. No idea how they got her into the apartment but a few days later I saw her in their window on my way to work. I still see her even to this day, so thankfully she found a good home! TLDR: Nightmare neighbor yells at us at all hours of the day and night, throws her cat out a window, and is generally unpleasant. I saw her drop her debit card while she was doing Thanksgiving shopping with a cart full of food and I scooted the card under the candy rack. She ended up not being able to buy the food and it ruined her Thanksgiving. submitted by /u/Valkier_Kato to r/pettyrevenge [link] [comments]

Modular Dowel-Mount Spice Rack System
I’ve been experimenting with a modular wall-mount system that uses dowel rods for both structure and style and the first piece is a spice rack built on that same foundation. Each rack profile is designed around different container sizes (small, medium, large, and hot sauce bottles), all using the same universal dovetail mount. You screw the dovetail to the wall once, and any of the spice rack mounts simply slide and lock in place, no tools needed to swap or rearrange. The goal was to make something that’s: Clean and modern, but still easy to print on any FDM printer. Modular, so you can mix different rack sizes or expand later. Customizable, with your choice of dowel color, material, or length I have posted the full model on MakerWorld thoughts and suggestions are always appreciated especially from anyone who’s printed or tested modular wall systems before. Edit to Add A big thank you to everyone from the BambuLab sub who gave me a improvement suggestions. I was able to test these and after further refinement will be adding them to the existing Makerworld model. A 3rd "center" mount was added for each shelf size. This mount also include a "Micro" dovetail so that like the rest of the mounts the size can be adjusted without removing the screws. Changes were also made to the retaining clips so they contour better to the rods allowing for better securement. Pictures of both changes are in the comment section below! submitted by /u/FractMod to r/FractMod [link] [comments]

Wooden wall hung display for… I don’t know what! Found in a charity shop. Any ideas?
Hi all, my wife found this wooden display cabinet in a charity shop. It’s looks like an old spice rack? But the shelving is far too close together and the round indexations for whatever it held are way too small. We’d love to know what it was for! Any ideas welcome! P.S. it lost two shelves in transit so have added a picture of that too! It’s about 30cm tall submitted by /u/AveryAcamar to r/whatisthisthing [link] [comments]

AITA for kicking my 72 year old MIL out of the house at night, because she threw away my things?
I am NOT the Original Poster. That is u/NoMaybe3163. She posted in r/AmItheAsshole. Mood Spoiler: tentative happy ending Original Post: October 21, 2023 I (36F) live with my husband (41M). I have a decent relationship with my MIL, compared to a lot of the horror stories I hear from friends, she’s quite sweet and warm. She is, however, a little… over-controlling? Overprotective? I’m not sure of the exact word, but she has very strong ideas about things and no sense of boundaries. For example, when she stays at our house she takes over the kitchen completely and insists on cooking all our meals. She cooks wonderfully, but she won’t let me help her at all, and puts everything away in the wrong places - and then insists that her way is more logical. She only really comes for holidays, though, and I do like her a lot. So I don’t mind putting up with these mild annoyances. I’m currently pregnant with our little girl, who will be born in a few months. This is a miracle - I really didn’t think it would happen, especially so late, but we got lucky. When my MIL heard, she was super excited and said she would come over to help us get ready for the baby. She offered to stay for the next 6 months or so to help out, because my husband and I both work long hours and it will be hard to handle the baby on top of this. She is also pretty emotionally invested in this, because she truly sees herself as part of our family. She arrived a few days ago and set herself up, then she started with the cleaning. I like collecting things from garage sales and such. Things like little sculptures and books and baskets, stuff a lot of people would consider utter junk. Our house is definitely overstuffed, but it’s reasonably tidy and doesn’t seem like a hoarder’s house or anything. My MIL, on the other hand, likes everything surgically clean. Yesterday I came home from work to find the house like a war zone, she went through my cabinets and cleared out everything she considered junk, and had apparently made several trips to goodwill before I got home. I was really angry and I asked her why she would ever do this. She said the house has to be tidy for the baby, and that it would be “dangerous” for the baby to be in my cluttered house. Then she took the next huge bag of stuff and tried to walk out the door. I kind of lost it, and I told her she could get out right now. She was shocked that I was serious, and she said she doesn’t have anywhere to go and it’s so late. It was about 9:30. I booked her a hotel room and called a taxi. My husband came home an hour later, and when I told him what happened, he was furious with me. He says I disrespected his mom and was ungrateful for everything she’s trying to do for us. AITA? Relevant Comments: She definitely overstepped, but she may have been trying to help if your house is super cluttered "It’s not cluttered. I don’t just have piles of stuff lying around, everything is in cabinets and arranged in a visually pleasing way. It’s sort of a “cluttered aesthetic”, but I’ve had guests over and everyone thinks it’s pretty cool." Due date: "Baby is due in 2 months. She said she’d stay for a bit after the baby was born." As to if OOP is a hoarder: Okay. I’m just going to give y’all a list of all my “junk” and you can decide if I’m a hoarder. a walk in closet with a lot of thrifted clothes, some that I altered myself 4 quilts in said walk in closet an antique wood desk with a typewriter (that is admittedly just taking up space, but it is gorgeous) a LOT of wall art (none of it matches, which my MIL hates. But it’s all hung properly and intentionally.) two shelves of fancy china in the dining room, which I’m never going to use, but again, it’s displayed purposefully a coin collection, in ziplock bags in my closet two “ugly” end tables several rugs from garage sales (that are in use, not just rolled up in a corner) two bookcases of books (you can never have too many books) and fine, books lying around on the coffee table, kitchen table, and couch a few shelves in said bookcases with family memorabilia and such houseplants a lot of throw pillows that also don’t match at all a tree sculpture with Christmas ornaments and pictures hung on it lamps on every table a geode collection a spice rack with a lot of little spice bottles too many dishes (it fits in two kitchen cabinets though) normal house things What she gave away - a bag or two of my clothes that supposedly aren’t practical a box of books a bunch of paintings some pillows dishes a whole drawer of my rocks OOP is voted NTA Update Post: October 25, 2023 (4 days later) Thank you to everyone to replied to my post. Appreciate the advice and wishes for the baby. So I talked to my husband after we both cooled down a bit, and I told him I felt let down that he didn’t support me. He said it was just stuff, and he didn’t think I cared that much. I also asked him if he asked his mom to “declutter”, and if he has a problem with my things. He said no, he literally has zero opinion about my decor or collections. I believe him, because this is the guy who doesn’t know the difference between blue and purple… So he said that’s why he thought I overreacted, because in his mind it’s just stuff and not nearly as important as a person who’s feelings can be hurt. I said that my things matter to me because I’ve put effort into collecting/fixing them and that some hold memories too. He said he understands and he apologized. We went and brought my MIL home from the hotel in the morning, and I said I was sorry for losing my temper, and asked her if we could talk. She was still upset but agreed. I told her I should have said this a long time ago, but I don’t like it when she takes over and doesn’t treat my home like it’s mine. She seemed offended but she said okay. I told her I would be really grateful if she helps with the baby and I want her in my child’s life, but she has to work with me and not just do everything herself. She said but you work, and I said that I know it’s not what she did when she had a child, but I want to make this work - and I think I can have a job and also be in charge of my home. She was definitely annoyed but she agreed to everything and didn’t argue. So I think it will work out okay. I unfortunately couldn’t get my stuff back though… but I have plenty more rocks hidden away. submitted by /u/LucyAriaRose to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]
