Thought I’d come back with another update in case anyone finds it useful. TLDR of my journey; - Was on WeGovy from April 2024-August 2025 - I was 200lbs, lost 25lbs on my own, lost another 40ish lbs on WeGovy, and then an additional 10lbs after stopping. - Currently 115lbs (5’1”) - Quit cold turkey due to chronic constipation - I have PCOS Alright now that we’ve gotten intros out of the way. Here’s some things I do to help me maintain my weight loss and now build muscle at the gym: - Weighing my food and counting calories - Hitting the gym daily - Drinking 96oz water daily - Eating foods high in protein to feel fuller for longer - Limiting eating out and opting for home cooked meals - Finding low calorie alternatives to satisfy cravings (I’ve got a bigggg sweet tooth and I’m a big fan of sugar free sweets) This time I wanted to include some pictures of meals I eat. I’m writing this because I’ve been searching for months and never found anyone describing this the way I experience it. Quick background: I’m 30, shift worker from Germany. Started Wegovy in June 2025 at 130kg, currently at 107kg. 22kg down in roughly 8 months, including a 5-month break. But that’s not what this is about. What I actually want to talk about: Since starting semaglutide, it’s been quiet. Not just around food. No cravings. No urge for sweets. No constant internal pressure wanting something. GLP-1 receptors aren’t just in the stomach – they’re in the brain’s reward center. The dopamine system gets dampened. That constant “want-mode” just… switches off. For some people that feels strange. For me it was the first time in years I could just exist without noise in my head. I’ve had a past where that noise was particularly loud – and semaglutide has done something I didn’t expect at all. What I do alongside the injection: I run a fairly detailed supplement stack – berberine, L-carnitine, ALA, creatine, leucine among others. Not random, but targeted to preserve muscle and support metabolism. Result: body fat from 41.5% down to 30.7%, muscle mass actually increased simultaneously. I started a German Telegram channel documenting all of this – data, protocol, honest insights. No coaching, no ads. Has anyone else experienced this “quiet mind” effect? My doctor and I have been skeptical about the pill's efficacy, and this may all be placebo, but to me the pill is no joke. It's only day five for me but it's really packing a punch. PROS The food noise is gone (at least I think it is). I have had no temptation to eat poorly, binge, or order Doordash. I haven't wanted a real meal in the last few days. When I've tried to eat one, I can only get through about 1/3 of it. I usually inhale my food, but it's been taking quite a bit of time to finish eating. Strangely, the idea of eating has disgusted me at times. I went out to get coffee/dessert with a friend on day two, and only got through two bites of it before I pushed the plate away. I just stared at it thinking "I have no desire to eat this. I'm getting sick just looking at it." I pushed the plate away and wasn't even tempted to go back for a second try. As a binge eater who always empties her plate, this has NEVER happened to me before. CONS (depending on how you look at it) As mentioned above, I haven't really been able to stomach a real meal. I've been surviving on bananas, fruit smoothies, yogurt and protein shakes as they're the only things I can really stomach. It's gotten to the point that I've had to force myself to get something down, even when I'm not hungry. I constantly feel a vomity sensation in my chest/throat, but I also have GERD so the pill may just be exacerbating it. The cold smoothies and Tums have helped somewhat, will try some probiotics to see if that helps. I'm forcing myself to drink water so I don't get dehydrated and to help soothe some of the acidity. The nausea/heartburn is almost unbearable, but it's keeping my appetite in check so I'm determined to power through it. Overall, I'm thrilled that I'm feeling the pill work this quickly. When I first started Wegovy, I realised there were a few things no one really talks about until you're already in the middle of it. Sharing these in case it helps someone who's just beginning: The appetite drop isn’t instant Some people feel it early, but for many of us it takes 2-3 weeks. I spent week 1 thinking it wasn’t working, totally normal. Your weekly dose day matters more than you think If you inject late or swap your dose day, hunger, sleep, and even side effects shift. I didn't expect it to affect my whole routine this much. You can accidentally eat way too little Wegovy lowers appetite, but not your nutrition needs. If you go too low on calories, the tiredness and headaches hit fast. Protein + electrolytes helped me the most. Side effects have patterns, they’re not random Big meals, fried food, or late dinners = worse nausea. Small, lighter meals = almost no symptoms. Took me weeks to figure this simple pattern out. The scale will mess with your head Wegovy drops water weight first, then fat, then your body holds water again. So stall weeks are normal. Clothes and measurements tell the truth better than the number on the scale. There's something I'd like to ask: I got my first month for £75 from SheMed. Curious what everyone else paid and which pharmacy mostly people used? or can it be more cheaper anywhere in the UK? So some context, I used to be 360lbs and I lost 130lbs naturally with diet and exercise, but I could never get past my plateu of 230lbs. I was even considering wegovy back then, but now with my new desk job I'm working a lot more hours and I've developed a much more sedentary lifestyle and I've gained about 40lbs in 8 months. This is the most weight ive gained since losing it. Im almost 300lbs again and I'm absolutely terrified of slowly going back to what I was, and I've been seriously considering starting wegovy for real this time. Only problem is I brought it up to my boyfriend and he gets extremely upset, saying I'm going to go blind and do irreversible damage to my body. Hes supportive of me losing weight naturally but is extremely against GLP-1s and thinks im gonna die or destroy my body. Honestly I haven't done much research myself because i get very mixed information depending on what side the reports are on, so I figured I’d come here. I've just recently started on Wegovy this weekend - and I thought I would share my story as a warning to others. I was prescribed my Wegovy 3 weeks ago - but decided to delay taking it until I returned from a work trip where I was away for 2 weeks. I figured I'd start when I got back home to avoid any side effects while travelling and its was also a long weekend in Canada - so I figured it was a good time to start. I decided to start my day with a bowl of cereal (as my last meal) then start my Wegovy journey (mistake #1). When I met with my Dr., I don't remember her giving me any specific instructions on the dosage - and she told me that it was about $300 for a one month needle. It turned out to be closer to $500 in Canada (so buyer beware) and was not at all covered under my insurance (Canada Life). No big deal - I figured I spend that much or more in junk food so probably a good investment in my health. When I picked up my pen from the Pharmacy - there were 4 needles (I assume one for each week) and the dosage on the pen said 2.4 mg x 4. I carefully read the instructions in the Wegovy packaging (mistake #2) - and it says very clearly - DO NOT COUNT CLICKS - ROTATE THE DIAL UNTIL YOU REACH YOUR DOSAGE AMOUNT. In the manual it shows a picture of rotating the dosage and it shows a dosage of 0.25mg in the photo. As I started to turn the dial - I was immediately surprised by how many clicks I was clicking - but there were no dosage marks whatsoever until I hit 2.4mg. I thought it seemed like a lot of clicks - but the package says 2.4 x 4 and its supposed to be a months supply and based on the picture I figured my dosage must be 2.4 mg (mistake #3) since I never saw 0.25mg on the dial. That combined with the fact that they only gave me 4 needle tips - otherwise it would have shown 0.25mg somewhere along the line . So I set it at 2.4mg and plunged away and held it for 6 seconds as instructed (big mistake #4) A pleasant surprise was the needle was completely painless - so much so that I thought it didn't go in. Then I went about my day... Fast forward 90 minutes later I start to feel absolutely terrible, extreme pain, sweating, shaking, nausea, fever and headache - and that was the fun part. Then the projectile vomiting began. I was violently vomitting every 45 minutes for the next 24 hours. I thought I needed to call an ambulance. I spent most of the long weekend curled up beside the toilet on the floor of the bathroom. It took three days to somewhat recover. A quick call to a virtual doctor - I told him what had happened and he was in shock. He told me you're supposed to start with a starting dose of 0.25 mg for at least the first 4 to 8 weeks and build up to 2.4 mg over the course of several months. I had essentially given myself 2 months worth in my first dose. Today is day 4 - and I'm finally starting to eat (but just soup and crackers). I'm not sure if the doctor did something wrong, or the pharmacy, or if I missed something - but if you are just starting out - please talk to the Dr. or Pharmacist to avoid this if you have any confusion whatsoever. I got a message from my Dr. on Tuesday that said I'm only supposed to be doing 8 clicks for the first 4 weeks - so I'm not sure why they prescribed me a pen with 4x 2.4mg. Or why my doctor said I should be counting to 8 clicks - but the packaging specificially says do not count the clicks. The instructions from my doctor and on the Wegovy packaging are completely misaligned. Should I have been given a different pen - with only 4 doses of 0.25mg? I looked on the Wegovy website - and they definitely have a Month one green pen with 4x 0.25mg, but I was given the Month 5 black pen. Should the pen have markings of 0.25mg? If I'm supposed to use this pen for 8 weeks - why only give me 4 needles? Also according to the Wegovy website the product has a shelf life of 6 weeks - so if they did intend to give me the Month 5 black pen - I wouldnt be able to use it all within the expiration date. Still need to get these questions answered.... The past few days I have been feeling better (no more vomitting) but I feel complete outside of my body. Nausea, headaches, dizzyness, blurry vision. Now i'm dealing with the complications of being dehydrated, my abs and obliques are completely destroyed from throwing up, my throat is raw, and as a result of not eating much of anything in 4 days my entire digestive system has pretty much ground to a halt. Chicken Soup, crackers, pedialite is my new diet for now and I will never eat cereal again as long as I live. - hopefully this gets out of my system soon. Anyway - I thought it was important to share my story with other new Wegovy users... so hopefully you have a better start than I did. Mind you, the first picture was after l'd lost my first 30lbs on Wegovy and felt confident enough in a bikini to take photos. But now that I'm down to my goal weight, l've learned to accept my pancakes 😅✨ I also went from a 38 bust to a 32.. but l've lost 80lbs on Wegovy and couldn't be more thankful for this medication 🙌🏻 Anyone else experience the Wegovy butt? 🍑 I’ve also seen a lot of new Wegovy members scared of loose skin.
