Network techs/field techs, what tool bag do you use?
I'm currently using a Klein tools over the shoulder tool bag, one part or their modular storage system, but it's not really working for me. It's okay at holding tools but my laptop never fits well in any configuration and it's heavy even without my tools so I'm looking to get a new bag. What tools bags do you guys use that you really like and what do you keep in your tools bags? I've tried laptop bags but they can't hold tools obviously. I was looking for a rolling tool bag but then I realized I could just modify any old tool bag to make it rolling if I wanted too so I'm not really looking for that specifically anymore. submitted by /u/ByteSizedDelta to r/sysadmin [link] [comments]

Lighter tool bag
I've tried to lighten up my daily tool bag. I've replaced some Klein linesman pliers and a couple of channellocks with some lighter, smaller knipex pliers. Grabbed a bit driver and some bits to replace a couple of screwdrivers. A stubby ratchet for more torque situations and a couple of good lights. I like this Braun, maybe better than the Icon. And my beloved Zebralight headlamp. I think it covers most of my bases with less tools ( a couple of sockets and a Klein dike missing). Pricey, but I hate working with junk. submitted by /u/gokie80 to r/Tools [link] [comments]

Choosing a new tool bag
Hello Veto enthusiasts! I am in the market for a new tool bag and I am having a hard time choosing one that might be right for me. I am an electrician. Right now I do commercial new construction, and I commute on trains/buses to work. I have a Dewalt rolling backpack that has served me well for the past few years, but I am starting a new job soon where I will either be in a van or driving my car to different sites every day. I won't need a rolling backpack anymore, and I think it would be a pita lugging it around because its pretty big. I have been looking at the tech mc, tech mct, and tech mctp bags. I haven't been able to find a dealer near me so I can see them in person, and its kinda hard to tell the differences online. I went to a Lowes near me today to look at the Klein runner bag. I liked the size of it but I kind of want to splurge on something nicer since I will be using it all of the time. Any advice is much appreciated! Also what does Infrared mean? is it just a color scheme? Edit: I commented a picture of almost everything I'll want to carry. I missed my toner, a small drill and tap set, and maybe a plier or screwdriver. I am also leaning away from backpack straps. A shoulder strap would be nice though. submitted by /u/deathbyshitbox to r/VetoProPac [link] [comments]

Klein tool runner bag
Recently just picked up this Klein bag and it’s been amazing so far. I had an old Milwaukee backpack that my journeyman gave to me during my first year and after 2-1/2 years it finally gave out. I had bought a husky build out open tool bag and realized it didn’t have a strap but I just thought I could deal with it. It got old after about a week so I did some more digging and found this! 39 pockets, zippered pockets, and a shoulder strap, literally all I could ask for. It fits everything I need in my bag as a commercial new construction/service electrician. For 100 bucks you can’t beat it! submitted by /u/Brief_Knowledge4530 to r/KleinTools [link] [comments]

So I decided to use a klein tool bag for a toiletry bag.
So, I recently broke my last toiletry bag I got from TJ Maxx and I really wanted to buy a new one. I wanted to get a leather toiletry bag and you apparently can spend upwards of $200 which was wayy out of my budget. so I came up with the idea of using a construction brand for a bag so I found this little klein too bag that fits perfect for what I want. Its a little big but it was only like $60 and I like the size. its super heavy duty and if I gets dirty I'll shoot it with a hose. Im very satisfied. submitted by /u/RaveGang to r/BuyItForLife [link] [comments]

Tool bag fell out and was taken
Forgot my bag was on the tailgate and drove a mile to the store. Realized at the store and turned around, but it was too late. Someone found it and took it all. I lost quite a lot and need to replace it all. Ive built it up over time, but now need to replace all quickly. I’m a Jack of all trades. First Attempt at a pocketable EDC tool bag
So like the title says, this is my first attempt at an pocketable tool bag for edc. The idea is that i can walk into anything, anywhere, and be able to diagnose if not fix something if I dont have my larger tool bag to hand or on me (I'm and HVACR tech in training.) I'm definitely going to downsize the amount of bits, just haven't found the exact ones I want yet. I should also add that I normally have a skeletool or roxon flex companion in my pocket too. Klein 1/4" bits, Klein 1/4" flip sockets, generic extended 1/4" bits, leatherman ratchet driver (which will soon be replaced by a 711L 1/4" ratchet driver), short Klein 1/4" bits, Klein Electricians Shears, Klein Mini ratchet, sog power pint, workpro folding utility knife, and Maxpedition Platy 4x6 submitted by /u/Correct-Ball4786 to r/EDC [link] [comments]

Currently a business tech but going to be starting a network tech roll soon. I'm going to get together a whole different set of network tools and wondering what bag/tool carrier thingy is best? Badger Tool Bags…don’t think just buy.
Mostly posting this because while looking for a new set of bags to replace my old Diamondback/Occidental hodgepodge rig I couldn’t find any pictures of the badger electricians bags actually loaded down (besides their stock images that have like 8 insulated screw drivers and a pair of dykes crammed in). These bags are incredibly comfortable to wear for 10 hours a day, the belt does a great job of spreading the weight, and the bags themselves are significantly lighter than the occidental leather electricians set up. The tool side bag has four large slots along the interior edges of the main pouch as well as six (I think) webbing loops around the center of that pouch, so no matter what you need to add/remove from your bag you have a spot for it. The hammer loop is in a dumb place for a hammer (as the grip will slap the back of your leg all day) but does act nicely as a lineman’s holster. The fastener side bag has a holster for a 6” square, a tape holder (will fit a 25’ Klein tape), plus a small closed pouch in the main and fastener parts of the bag. Overall 10/10 would recommend, definitely worth the price. submitted by /u/CowboyCrustaceans to r/electricians [link] [comments]

My local wholesaler, shout out to Refrigerative Supply, had a "tool expo" with all sorts of venders and I won a a new tool bag as a door prize. I don't know what to use it for cause it's so god damn huge. I used to overfill my old Klein bag and it's a lot smaller. I've since switched to a small Veto bag for general service. My DIY tool go-bag
First off, I want to say I know that this post is likely going to generate some angry comments. No, I don't need any of this. But I wanted it and I can afford it. My wife and I remodeled our house a few years ago and I continue to work on things around the house and keep up on the maintenance of our vehicles. I enjoy tinkering with things and I enjoy having nicce tools to do so. Yes, most of these tools are new. I expect these will last me a lifetime and something I can pass on to my children/grandchildren. I tried buying most of these from KC Tool and local home improvement stores, but I did need to order some of these from Amazon. Homeowner. My “One Bag To Rule Them All” kit
AKA r/tools - you have created a monster. I’m fully aware that these tools are, by and large, better than my skills. Yes, many are quite new looking. Shoot me. I clean my tools. And I’m not a pro. Actually, I’m not even a handyman’s areshole. But fuck it. I decided a few years back to stop buying shitty tools when I needed something specific. I discovered Reddit around the same time. To be honest, you fuckers helped create this. However, this bag has everything I need to get shit done around the house and then some. The bag is the Toughbuilt Medium Tool Tote. I know there’s lots of speculation about the company, but the gear fucking rocks. And is well priced. This tote is solid AF. Gear Knipex 180mm Pliers Wrench. Easily the best size for this beauty. I love it. 200mm Cobra. Ditto Twin Grips. Fuck these are useful given I only got them cos they look cool. Grabbier than my uncle after 6 scotch and drys. 200mm combo pliers. Not Linesman. These are better. Come at me. 185mm Needle nose pliers Weird small 145mm useful needle nose pliers with a cutout for holding nails because I am kinda uncoordinated. 160mm needle nose pliers for, like, small places. My daughter who is crafty loves these, actually. Flush cutters. So I don't hurt my delicate hands on those nasty cable ties Diagonal cutters. Note - Aussies are not allowed to play with electricity unless licences. The VDE gear is largely because I got them on special and the handles are actually awesome. I ‘definitely’ wouldn’t move a wall outlet all by myself. Wera Philips 2. Obvs VDE Philips 1 and 3.5mm flat - see above for VDE notes. Tool Check Plus. So fucking useful. 1/4” Zyklop. Not nearly as useful. But 11/10 coolness factor. No regrets. Metric Allen Keys. We don't need Imperial. Except when we do. Then I'm shit outta luck, frankly Stubby Ratchet. For screwing in small places. Oh to be young again Vessel Chisel Driver. This sucker is amazing. Literally a screwdriver with though tang and striking plate that is actually a chisel. Like, $20. Go buy one. Philips ball end ratchet. I probably grab this the most. Cheap. Useful. Great tip. Actually super annoying switch positioning, but I forgive it. 6mm flat head. I prefer this to the Wera flat head because it feels more… pryable. You know what I mean. PB Swiss Ratcheting screwdriver. Yeah. I watched all the reviews on You Tube. I spent too much money. I don’t use it a lot. But when I do I feel like if Thor would if he had a screwdriver not a hammer. Pick Set. Replaced a $5 eBay set without being any more functional. However, sexy AF. Actually, one of the picks has a two way bend and is actually amazingly useful. This is hands down my most pointless tool purchase. I love them. Mini Empire Speed Square. Small enought for the bag. Not big enough to be useful. Pico Pencils. I have two because I bought the 0.9mm first, literally not realising they were not the ones everyone raves about. The 3030 is the GOAT. I have spare leads as well Temu pointy texter - it has a long skinny point perfect for marking screw holes. I stole this from my boss. Eraser. My crafty daughter? ‘Borrowed’ this from her. Sharpie. Classic. Lufkin Nite Eye 8m tape measure. Best ever. Not gonna argue with the Fat Boy freaks. Milwaukee utility knife. As much as I’m Dewalt and Makita - Milwaukee nailed this one. It’s almost an iconic design by now. Stabila Torpedo Level. Sola are better, when you are old and your eyes are fucked. But the form factor of this is perfect for fitting in the bag. And it is expensive enough to satisfy. 4140 pry bar - this is a cheapie, not the ARES. Even I have limits apparently. Teensy Vaughan Pry Bar. 6”, I think. Whatever the fuck an inch is. Handy. Compact. Apparently still made in the USA. Whatever. I like the colour. Purdy 6 in 1 painters tool. This fucker was $12 even in Australia (we get raped, price wise) and is amazing. Second most used tool after the Milwaukee utility knife. Full tang and strike plate FTMFW. UNI-T Multimeter. Not that I use this. As Aussies are not allowed to play with electricity. Really good quality for the price though. Franklin Stud Finder. I use the fuck outta this and wish I bought a decent model decades ago. It also always confirms that I am a stud which is useful. Klein folding jab saw. Really handy. Way too chunky for my little hands though. Not as much fun as a multitool Wiss Utility Shears. Really great cutters, hate the handles. Wiss 10” scissors. Great blades, great ergonomics too. Mumme 225g Cross Pein Hammer. Hey. I needed a tiny hammer to fit the bag. Also, I’m a klutz. Mumme is an Aussie brand that even Aussies have never heard of. Again, nice shade of blue though. Whats the point of a hammer if it’s not pretty? Irwin Auto Wire Strippers. These are ok. I don’t do electrical stuff though, obvs Convoy Right Angle Flashlight. Great work light - Nichia 519a 5k LED for perfect colour rendition. For when I’m not looking a different coloured electrical cables. Check out r/flashlight if that makes no sense. Be prepared to lose several days if you do. SOFIRN S21 Headlamp. Rotate the light to change from spot to flood to both. Makes me feel like a nerdy Cyberman. According to my wife it also makes look as sexy as a dead hedgehog. WD40. Smells great. Also lubes shit. Fuck you lube deniers. 3 in 1 oil. Useful, apparently. I've never used it. Duct tape, teflon tape, electrical tape. Also Super Glue for when I need to fasten my fingertips to each other.. Small plastic case of fasteners. Which are always either too long, too short or the wrong gauge. Reusable cable ties. Well, fuck. Seriously the third most useful thing i discovered on this here subreddit! Riggers gloves. Worn when I need to feel more manly. Which is most of the time. Don't judge. Dewalt Impact driver. Tiny little poweful ugga dugga beast. I seriously laugh when I see people scoff at this becuase it’s Atomic branded in some markets. This little beast will drive screws through anything. I'm literally afraid to use speed 3 - pretty sure you need some kind of trade certification first. Long Vessel PH2 bit, centre punch (Rennsteig cos it’s German and I am a wanker, obvs), nail punch. So yeah. It weighs a shit ton but makes me feel like a DIY god. Every single time I hang something on the wall. Flame away. I can take it. submitted by /u/rhymeswithoranj to r/Tools [link] [comments]

Klein tool bag
Anybody use this style bag? I have been wanting one for awhile but the ones I've seen on the job are either too small or way too big. I'm debating between 16 and 18. Maybe even 20. Anybody use these and have recommendations ?? submitted by /u/Kingofthetravelers to r/electricians [link] [comments]

Suggestions for a new bag similar to this design but where my tools won’t poke through the outside pockets after a year?
