Battery charger recommendation - Xtar or Vapcell or others?
As we all dwell deeper into the rabbit hole, we find ourselves owning more and more batteries (or cells). I mean, they just multiply like rabbits, and we get drowned in the numbers, 18650, 21700, 18350, 14500... etc. And then we start labelling the batteries and start a spreadsheet... the rabbit hole is deep. So what chargers are you all using? What would you recommend? Ideally it should last me for years, like more than 5 years at least? I have shortlisted a few here and some of my thoughts: Vapcell S4+ V3.0 - 4 slots, this seems like a fan favourite, and it has independent slots. But then it comes with a huge charging brick which made it less portable. Xtar VX2 Pro - 2 slots, USB-C which is convenient. Seems like a popular choice recently as well. Lack of display of charging time though. Xtar VC8S - 8 slots, USB-C. Plenty of slots but I doubt I would need to use all 8 at once. Seems like an overkill. Xtar VC4SL - 4 slots, USB-C, has a handy "storage mode" to bring down the voltage for batteries for long-term storage. How about Nitecore chargers? Or the very advanced SkyRC? I know it's a Walmart brand, but I've had this battery charger for 10-plus years and it's still the best charger I've ever had.

Two dead batteries, key won't work, charger locked inside
Left one of my cars at the airport while visiting family for 2 weeks, came home to a dead battery. Forgot my battery booster in the other car. Got a boost at the airport and drove all the way home. Car wouldnt start again, probably the alternator, ok. Went to start the other car and it's dead too and the only door with a manual key won't open. submitted by /u/douwannaseethegalaxy to r/Wellthatsucks [link] [comments]

Recommended car battery charger
I posted last time on here for advice on how to care for a car battery. One persons advice said a trickle charger. Unfortunately I don't live in a house but an apartment so I don't get an outlet for that. Is there any recommended car battery charger for this brand. Should I buy a car battery charger?
I’m debating buying a car battery charger. I just bought my first car. I love to sit in it and listen to music. I want this car to last forever because it’s a Beetle and Beetles are awesome. we all know that having the car only half-on (without the engine&alternator running and idling) will at least allow you to listen to music. It’ll also only drain the battery, correct? Nothing else gets harmed by it? So, if I get a car battery charger, technically I can sit in my car and listen to music for as long as I want!!!!!!! I wouldn’t have to worry about wrecking my engine by idling it OR burning a ton of gas! An engine is way more costly than a battery. I could just make sure to not FULLY charge the battery (since I’ve heard that’s bad for batteries) and I’ll make sure to not let it die. Is this a good idea? Why or why not? submitted by /u/ElvisHuxley to r/askcarguys [link] [comments]

Weird one. Found this while exploring an abandoned property. The cop who attended after I reported it said it was a battery charger, not what I thought it was.
Made of brass with inscriptions "explosive, dangerous, detonator" and a long orange wire connected to it. Like I said, after I reported it to police, the attending officer called me and told me not to worry and it was a battery charger. I asked "what about the inscriptions" and he awkwardly laughed and said it was not a detonator. I just cant simply understand how this is a battery charger and am hoping someone here can help me out. Found in Australia if that helps. submitted by /u/Wolle525 to r/whatisthisthing [link] [comments]

Auto Battery Charger Recommendations
Today, my old, reliable battery charger that I bought at Sears in 1999 finally gave up the ghost. Looking for a quality, similar replacement without breaking the bank. Don’t need fancy, just reliable, and, preferably, something that will last for several years. Does anybody have good experience with something that they purchased, maybe within the last few years, that is still available that has served them well? Thanks. submitted by /u/AdEastern9303 to r/Tools [link] [comments]

Why can't we have phones and/or chargers that disconnect at 100% to avoid degrading the battery?
Wouldnt sound too expensive, just disconnect the charging port from thw battery. Atleast we should have an more expensive charger that could do it. Would be great to be able to charge my phone overnight without worrying about the battery. Hell even laptop batterycould benefit from this aswell. It could disconnect in use so you wouldn't need to worry about it constantly. submitted by /u/rinisini to r/NoStupidQuestions [link] [comments]

Recommendations for a battery charger?
Do you guys have any recommendations for a good battery charger? I have this Nitecore UMS4 and while it has served me well, I really dislike it's micro usb port. It also seems very picky regarding cables, most cables seem to limit it's max power draw significantly even though it shows the "quick charge" icon on the screen (not shown here). It also annoys me that it uses the older Qualcomm QC standard for quick charging, but pretty much all my power sources use USB PD now. Does anybody know of a good charger that's powered by USB C? if it can also discharge batterirs and test them, even better. submitted by /u/MrFastFox666 to r/18650masterrace [link] [comments]

Single-Use Battery Chargers
I'm not usually one to call out stuff like this but the whole concept here is galling. Why can't your guests just remember to charge their phones? If you have to have a contingency for guests who are unprepared, why can't you provide one or more charging stations? What a waste of money and materials, not to mention the packaging, and you just know they aren't going to be disposed of correctly and will find their way to a landfill (at best). submitted by /u/lysanderish to r/Anticonsumption [link] [comments]

This battery charger spent almost nineteen years on the P6 truss segment of the ISS, making it (to my knowledge) the longest flown piece of hardware ever returned from space. Each colored flag points to a meteoroid or orbital debris strike we found on inspection.
