What exactly is the use case for this tool? 3” cutoff
I feel dumb asking this, but what exactly is the use case for this? Is it a grinder? If so, doesn’t seem great for tight areas or where you need max flexibility of movement. Is it for cutting wood? If so, isn’t the blade a bit small and limited in movement? Im asking because im removing a bunch of old deck/deck boards and I’m trying to find my dream tool: something that can easily cut 2x4/2x6, without being as cumbersome as a circular saw, and as loud and rough as a sawzall. Is the jigsaw what I’m looking for? I already have one and it just isn’t doing the trick :( Also, why don’t they have grinder blades that cut wood vs just ones for metal cutoff? If they exist, I’m missing them submitted by /u/binderfillerwrapper to r/Dewalt [link] [comments]

FYI for anyone interested in 16 inch deep wire shelves from ClosetMaid
These shelves have a fatal flaw--the front-to-back wires are too thin to support the weight of the shelf, especially if you install a "superslide" rod. For a 12" shelf, the thin wires are strong enough because the shelf isn't super deep. But the 16" shelf is just too deep. You'll find, after loading the shelf (especially with a superslide rod), it will sag transversely along the thicker perpendicular wires. If you're putting up anything heavier than towels, stick with the 12" wire shelves or get a stronger material. Don't be a dum-dum like me! submitted by /u/-nyctanassa- to r/DIY [link] [comments]

ISO Canadian alternative to ClosetMaid
We want to turn a nook into a closet and add some inexpensive adjustable wire shelves, but we want to avoid US companies -- and all our usual places (including Canadian Tire) sell ClosetMaid stuff. Our sourcing priority is: Ideally, a Canadian company Failing that, a non-US company Failing that, made in Canada by a US company We're in the Vancouver area. We are *not* looking for a custom closet like the stuff Arbutus Furniture & Closets does -- those are great, but overkill for what we're after. Just adjustable wall-mounted adjustable shelves. submitted by /u/JHGRedekop to r/BuyCanadian [link] [comments]

Container Store Elfa + ClosetMaid Shelftrack?
We currently have ClosetMaid ShelfTrack system in the master closet. Does anybody know if we can replace everything with Elfa but reuse the current ShelfTrack system that’s already screwed into the wall/studs? Are the ShelfTrack rails/standards compatible with the Elfa or Elfa Decor shelving, drawers, etc? submitted by /u/Broomstick73 to r/homeowners [link] [comments]

Track connectors for ClosetMaid Adjustable Organizer Rack
I have this pantry organizer rack and the track pieces on the left and right are only so long, so you must connect them with connector pieces. I lost one and the rack is hanging on by the other side. I cannot find the name of these connector pieces!! Or where to buy them. My google results only come up with connector pieces for wire shelving which isn’t what I need. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/AsIfLeo to r/HelpMeFind [link] [comments]

12in Closetmaid white shelf bracket
Seems to be a discontinued style? Husband bought hardware and shelving off Craigslist but some pieces are incompatible and we need to buy more of these. I made a Coffin Choker Hanger for ClosetMaid Wire Shelves! Can also be used for bracelets, etc. Takes advantage of previously unused space, and is WAY better than using a regular clothes hanger! It's free on Printables, and there's a non-spooky version included for you weirdos out there.

Closetmaid shelving...now only sold in light gray?
Local big box stores all carry ClosetMaid wire shelving, labeled "white," but is light gray. Especially noticeable next to the older white version already installed in my house. What gives? 🤷 I phoned their customer service and they are in denial submitted by /u/complete__idiot to r/HomeImprovement [link] [comments]

Best spray paint for Closetmaid wire shelving
Bought a house and the wire shelving is definitely aged. I'd only use the spray paint on some of them--specifically, the ones I can remove without too much fuss. Pretty sure they're vinyl-coated, so I was looking at Rustoleum Universal All Surface or Rustoleum Painter's Touch 2x Ultra Cover. Would likely use a gloss or semi-gloss. They both are paint + primer, so I don't intend on doing anything to the shelves before spraying them. Any recommendations? submitted by /u/orcthedork to r/HomeImprovement [link] [comments]

Storage closet shelving options - Closetmaid seems like it won't be strong enough, and I'm looking for better options.
I need to figure out what kind of shelving to use for our big basement storage closet. Image/diagram here: https://i.imgur.com/ndlZoZL.jpg The left side will be one high shelf and a hanging rod. The rod will be used for winter gear, suits/dress clothes we never wear, etc. The right side will be a several shelves used to store many Rubbermaid tubs and various lesser-used kitchen gear (big pots, small appliances, canning supplies, basically stuff we don't keep in the kitchen upstairs). These should be fairly deep ~24" shelves since we have 30" to work with. If don't say anything, the contractor will just use the basic cheap white wire Closetmaid shelving from Home Depot. I just don't think that's sturdy enough long-term to support the amount of stuff I'd like to pack into this closet. It's tough to know true weight limits of this stuff over time and I also don't want a bunch of diagonal support bars every 16" getting in the way. There's this Rubbermaid Toughstuff wire shelving which is a bit stronger. But i'm questioning whether the wire shelving is really the route i should be going at all. Alternative options could include a floor-standing industrial shelving unit, or or some other lumber-based setup. The wall with the hanging rod is a little easier since i don't plan to store as much weight there, but I still want it to be sturdy. Curious if anyone has suggestions based on something that worked well for you or something I should avoid. Thank you! submitted by /u/Ikempls to r/HomeImprovement [link] [comments]

How do I become more assertive with customers/What's the policy on cutting ClosetMaid shelves?
This morning, I had a back and forth with a customer who was kind of rude when I told her that she needed to buy the shelf first before I could cut it. According to my other co-workers, we're not supposed to even cut it in the first place. However, if they show their receipt, it's up to me if I want to cut or not. submitted by /u/vincent365 to r/HomeDepot [link] [comments]
